Political Economy and Class Analysis of Nepal

This book is a culmination of research conducted by CNS in 2017 on the topic ‘Political Economy and class analysis of Nepali Society’. The objective was to substantiate empirically that Nepal is a comprador capitalist country through identification of classes in agriculture, nature of labour relations, purpose of agriculture production and classes in industrial and service sectors. Politically, enough has been written and reiterated about political economic nature of Nepali society; and academically too, some attempts have been made. However, all analyses carried out by communist parties so far were exclusively based on secondary data. Thus, Centre for Nepal Studies felt that it is imperative to carry out empirical research as a necessary ingredient of class analysis.
